We are slowly learning how to build this website and we thank you for your patience and understanding as it evolves! Some updates for you all:
– On October 1st, the POA Executive board announced that the POA will be paying annual FOP lodge dues for POA members to increase POA membership, give a tangible benefit to becoming a POA member, and strengthening our association by opening access to the FOP’s Legal Defense Plan and lobbyists. Since then, we have already increased our membership with nine new members!
– We are still looking for a new Recording Secretary to serve on our Executive Board. Generally speaking, the Recording Secretary processes new member applications and records the minutes of our meetings. If interested, complete the contact form on the homepage.
– Thank you for those who have responded to the Dispatcher Roles, Duties & Representation survey. The feedback we got back is enlightening and encouraging. We did not receive a response from some University PDs and will be reaching out shortly to complete our data and look for representatives to testify before the Labor Relations Board in December.
– We are looking for anyone familiar with creating Adobe editable PDF forms. Our current grievance form needs an overhaul. I would like to have a streamlined grievance filing system in place for 2027 to eliminate grievances being filed that the Executive Board is unaware of. Again, the contact form on the homepage is the best way to let us know if you can be of any help.
– Lastly, a humble request: If you are seeking to email an executive board member, please do so at their POA email address or use the contact form on the homepage. Do not email union business to our .edu work emails. There are a number of issues we are seeking to resolve statewide. Separating work emails from union matters are incredibly important from an organizational perspective and will ensure a prompt response.
Thank you all, stay safe, and look out for one another.
